You Can Draw: Beginner Drawing for Adults

Drawing isn't a talent you're born with—it's a skill you can learn.

If you've always wanted to draw but didn't know where to start—or you've convinced yourself you're "just not artistic"—this class is for you.

Designed for complete beginners and anyone looking to build confidence, this 7-week course introduces the essential skills of drawing through clear, step-by-step instruction. You'll learn how artists see the world—and how to translate what you see onto paper with greater accuracy and control.

Together, we'll explore line, shape, value, proportion, perspective, texture, and composition through engaging projects inspired by still life, nature, everyday objects, and imagination. As your skills grow, you'll begin to see measurable improvement in how you observe, simplify, and construct your drawings.

Each class combines demonstration, guided practice, and personal exploration, helping you develop the skills and confidence to continue drawing long after the course is over.

During class, you'll:

  • Learn the fundamental skills every artist builds on
  • Practice drawing from observation and imagination
  • Explore shading, perspective, texture, and composition
  • Create finished drawings through guided, hands-on projects
  • Build the confidence to continue drawing on your own

No experience is needed. All drawing materials are included.
