Not sure whether you want to paint, draw, print, sculpt—or try a little bit of everything?
Art Exploration for Adults is a 7-week class designed for adults who want to make art, experiment with different materials, and discover what they enjoy. No previous art experience is needed. This is a place to try new things without feeling like you already need to know what you're doing.
Each week introduces a different material, technique, or way of working. Students may exploredrawing, painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media, sculpture, and other studio processes, with a new hands-on project providing a starting point each week.
Along the way, we'll introduce fundamental art concepts such as color, composition, line, shape, texture, and value. You'll learn how different materials behave, how artists make creative decisions, and how the same idea can change depending on the medium you use.
Projects are guided, but they aren't designed for everyone to leave with identical artwork. You'll be encouraged to experiment, make your own choices, and find approaches that interest you.
This class is equally suited to someone who hasn't made art since school and someone who simply wants an opportunity to step outside their usual medium and try something different.
